You're one of the lucky ones. My mirror is a Gentex (like OEM) but I bought it aftermarket. I suppose there's some variation from one to the next.

    - he sells on eBay and in the past as a vendor on TW. I'm not sure if he still sells here on TW. I'd just find an email address at this link and shoot him a message. He'll find you what you need.

Or check out his eBay store. But you can prob get a better price contacting him directly. He's a very helpful and nice guy to work with.

I've never been 100% satisfied with autodimming mirrors either. I have a piece of tape on the front sensor that has been colored with a sharpie to darken it some more and the dimming is tolerable.

I realize the intent is to dim only when something is behind you, but I honestly would like to have an input that would dim the mirror fully when the park lights or headlights were on.

Wonder what happens if you fully black out the front sensor with, say, electrical tape? Would the mirror go totally dim in the presence of any amount of light? If so, we'd be down to simply turning it on and off for day vs night.

That's pretty much what will happen. Put your finger over the front in daylight, it will dim.

Same here, imo they do not dim enough and I'd guess it's because the newer headlights (projector, hid, led) appear brighter than older style lights and also many have misaligned headlights.

The only thing I've found that helps is having the darkest tint on my rear window.
Also that green led is annoying at times, I blacked it out on my work truck.
