Auto/DRL lights question?

Do the 2020 TRD Tacoma's have auto headlights standard or is it still in the premium package ?

 

You had to get the premium package to get auto headlights with the sport. It comes with moonroof, leather seats, JBL, and other nonsense. Wish they would put that moonroof and leather seats on their own option package cause that's the only stuff I didn't want.

It appears my new one (TRD OR) has the BSM, rear traffic crossing alert, but does not have automatic headlights, although there is a spot on the top of the passenger side dashboard for the sensor.
It almost makes no sense why they wouldn't put that in.
I have a '15 Ram with crank windows and manual door locks and a '17 F150 XL with rubber mats and a 4" screen with no back up camera and they both have it.

I never looked when I bought it because I figured we had come out of the Stone Age long ago.

 

I find it hard to believe that you can pay $40K for a truck and it not have auto headlights!

 

I was so happy it had a compass, I overlooked the auto light thing.Unlike my wife's Pilot I got her this past year. That Pilot has everything you could want BUT a compass.

It's funny. There is NO perfect vehicle. It's almost as if they plan it.
"Steering wheel? For that you have to go up one trim level but on this model, you do get a USB port inside your gas cap hatch."

 

I just found a great fix to this. I disabled the DRL using an app call Carista. It allows you to customize some features, I only cared about the DRLs. I used a generic OBD2 Bluetooth adapter but they have their own. Saved me a lot of headache, I’m happy now .

Vehicle Head Unit has the disable DRL option.

 

I for one am a fan of the DRL's on my truck. They are the turn signal bulbs, instead of the headlights which to me is a brilliant idea. At the cost of a headlight bulb these days... burning them during the day could get costly. My 2010 silverado would blow a passenger headlight bulb every yr or so and that is with turning off the DRL every single time you got in the truck.

 

DRL's on a 3rd Gen are the surrounding LED's of the headlight assembly or turn signal, no the headlight bulb.

fun fact, the gmc savana/chevy express vans, and pre-'transformers' era camaro's are well known to melt turn signal assemblies from the turn signal being used as DRL.

 

I read your post, my truck has halogens. the DRL's are the turn signal bulb (7442NA) not the halogen head light. I am aware of the fancy trd style lead drl. Not equipped on a base model truck.

where do you see leds surrounding this headlight. And in the manual it says the drl, turn signal and parking light is a bulb with the part number. i have good day. LMFAo
