My buddy and I are working on a device to automatically engage the ECT control when going uphill and turn it off when your level again. You get the best of both worlds, better MPG on flat land and higher RPM before shifting when you need it going up hill. We hope the price would be less than $100.

So the question is - would you be interested?

Has potential. I am trying the new shift controller from DZ and will see how that goes. Tired of getting in, starting, shifting to S mode, hitting ECT every damn time I start it. The shifts feel like someone greased up a clutch, sloppy and slow and never in the right place. What is funny is that when they happen hard and correctly (which is totally rare and random) I have spun the rears going 30, so there is power in there somewhere. Wish I could find it.

I would be more interested in ECT on at startup without having to modify my parking brake handle.

Yes, there is mod to turn on the ECT and keep it on. I have done that but now Milage sucks.
The auto on and off devise I am working on, will turn it on only when your going up hill when you need it.
Will not require you to activate it, no beeps. Just works in the background, You see the ECT light go on and off and you can override it too.

You really need it going downhill/level too so you don't get that hard last second downshift when coming to a stop. Sometimes it will go from 4th/3rd to 1st within a micro sec. Piece of crap.

Id be interested for sure. I engage ECT just once a day and only for the first 2 miles of leaving work where I have to pull out of a parking lot straight onto a 70mph road.

Do it so I can use this with a shift sense module and a pedal commander all at the same time!
