Don't know if this has been addressed before. I've looked and there are a lot of threads about mechanical limited slips.

My question is is there a way to re-program my 2007 TRD Off-Road to get the Auto LSD? I'm not excited about changing diffs since I have the rear locker.

The long and short of it is NO, you would need a need ABS unit (Skid control ECU), master cylinder, harness, switch(s), and possibly a cluster. No reprogram will do it.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Any recommendations on a mechanical limited slip that will work with the rear locker?

A mechanical type LSD is basically just a "Posi" rear-end and uses clutches to keep both wheels hooked up, but allows the vehicle to turn without "wheel hop". You would have to completely change out the rear end. I know of none, but I do know it would be expensive.

So you already have a mechanical LSD since it's an 07 right? Do you need to rebuild it since the clutches have worn out?

No you can't have locker and lsd. There might be a fancy super expensive unit out there that does it

Detroit Truetrac is a good option if you want to step away from clutch design. Personally I don't like it, for it to engage, the wheel that is spinning still needs a tiny bit of traction to get it going, you can always tap the brakes and it should catch and pull you up, but I'm a fan of clutch based. As long as you take care of it, it should last a while.

Thanks for the info. No limited slip in mine since the locker. Don't want to spend an arm and a leg so I guess I'll have to live with what I have.
