It is actually a GM Ecotec out of a Cobalt SS, with cams, ported supercharger and a pulley to up the boost.

I just cleaned out my phone so I only got like one poser shot but:

    PXL_20211229_133138383.jpg

But all the heavy stuff is 34s, full steel armor all the way around a winch and I'm a bit of a gear queer so there's a toolbox full of recovery gear and who knows what in there, also on that scale I was below half a tank of gas, not in the vehicle, and did not have my trans or transfer skits on it was also before my slightly heavier leafs and my hammer hangers, with my dry box for my camp kit and other trail supplies, I know I'm over 6K when I go adventuring.

    Stock gears.

    Looks very nice!

You’ve got the 3.73 or 4.10s? Or did they even come with 3.73? I’m thinking Ford maybe.

    3.73 :bananadead:

I wasn't going to do my rear end until I've gotten regeared, but a hell of a deal came my way so now really the only thing I have left to do is gears and that probably should have been like the second or third thing.

Full disclosure: it isn’t mine. It was my buddies. I did the maintenance in it, which is a PITA, and he let me drive it for a month every year in exchange.

Texas decided they weren’t roadworthy and canceled the title and registration. So he sold it out of state.

Living in flatland Florida honestly not too bad, it's a bit of a pig in the hills and mountains though.

On more technical crawl trails Off-road, oh yeah I need 4low just to really get around, and when you need 4low well I'm glad I got a winch.

    :D

Got a twin stick fj case sitting on the bench too.

My girlfriend will tell you a 30 to 130 blast in it was the most scared she has ever been. It doesn’t help that the supercharger is maybe 18” from your ear, and it screams at high rpm.

I miss it. Most fun I’ve ever had in a car. Even driving it slow was fun from all the attention you got.

Well same here. My truck does not like to be in 4hi when doing slow speed maneuvers. Really burns that clutch. I’m on 31.6” tires currently and 2” lift.

It’s awesome on the hills and mountains though. This high revving minivan engine really shines through.:D

Ive never spent so much time and money on any of my vehicles. This is pretty fucked up and this forum is not helping!

I still want 15-20k worth of bolt ons…

Oh yeah, this forum not only enables, but fully encourages Tacoma addiction.

It's a great big rabbit hole to fall down it's good to be cautious as well, there's some bills on here that have more money in their suspension than I have in my truck and I'm not sure they're done falling yet!

One of the things I like about the truck and off-roading community is even though at heart we're still "car folks" so there's got to be tonight snide jabs and measuring but at the end of the day everybody's welcome to go wheeling with anybody from bone stock to rock bouncer I feel like off-roaders got some kind of unspoken camaraderie like motorcycle riders.
