probably, you would need the light sensor as well as the light switch to do it though. When I was part of the mk6 got world there were a few people who did that. You also need to calibrate the light sensor as well. I don't know of any specific tacoma parts for this unfortunately.

Honestly, having them, I don't really care for them. Even playing around with the sensitivity, I find that they turn on far too soon for my liking. If I park in the shad next to a building, they will turn on and not automatically shut off unless I cycle the switch. Maybe I need to play a bit more with sensitivity, but who knows. I also do not like that you cannot have the DRLs on unless you are in auto mode. Lastly, I wish the lights would shut off when you open the door, rather than waiting the 30 seconds for them to automatically shut off. My 2013 would shut the lights off when you opened the door. I find myself regularly shutting the head lamps off when I park the truck.

If I could operate the DRLs manually like on the 2G trucks, I'd be much happier than the setup on the 3G. I do like being able to have the fog lamps on independently of the head lamps without having to do any wiring to the truck.

we have the opposite problem haha, I find they take too long to turn off/on.

As for the having the lights stay on part, I'm assuming you mean when you are leaving the vehicle; hitting the lock button a second time will shut them off.

That is excellent to know. I will need to do that more often.

You can also go into vehicle setup on the entertainment system and adjust them to turn off automatically, 30 or 60 seconds. I have the non-tech and did mine a couple of weeks ago.

I'd also like the ability to simply disable the auto function.

One of my biggest complaints with Toyota. This kind of stuff should be standard equiptment on all cars
