    Home mechanics may dispose used auto products for free Saturday at a facility in Kearny Mesa, including motor oil, antifreeze, oil filters and auto batteries.

    The city of San Diego’s Auto Product Recycling event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 5571 Kearny Villa Road near Topaz Way.

    The service is free to city residents, though proof of residence is required.
    No more than 10 gallons of liquid waste are allowed, and it must be in closed, secure containers. Commercial waste is not permitted.

    The city’s Environmental Services and Resources, Recycling and Recovery departments are sponsoring the event.
