$30 made in China plug-in to fool ECU on a $50k truck. Hard pass from me.

Too new to have many reviews. Could try it for $30, report back. Doubtful anyone here has tried it.

Why would you want to disable this on the hybrid?

this guy claims no issues on a limited but again...why disable this on a hybrid? Totally counter productive to the system.

    Wha??? Start-Stop on 2024 Tacoma ?.....?.....

Ain't never selling my 2021 SR5 it actually uses a real KEY - probably will end up in the Smithsonian as one of
the last vehicles ever made that uses a KEY and does NOT have start-stop b.s. on it.

    Congrats.

What does having a real key matter to this thread?

It’s how real men send 12 volts to a starter I guess.

On my ‘24 Limited the auto start/stop only activates if I press the brake pedal in further than necessary. Otherwise it remains deactivated. I will occasionally accidentally activate it at a stop light but 99% of the time it’s not activated. Are the other trims not like this?

Never been inside a 2024 Tacoma; is there a button to disable stop start? Also, what are the negatives you've experienced?

It's 2024, these systems aren't bad anymore, and they will really boost your gas mileage if you do a lot of city driving.

I think it's only on the hybrids, and yes, there's a button.

I would check if you can disable it inside Toyota TIS first.

My BMW has auto stop/start and I coded the system to be on default off when the ignition is cycled. Factory was default on. It was annoying always pressing the off button when I got it.

Its been 5 years and I forgot about the system. There is abosultely no reason for the sports with manual transmission to have such feature IMO.

See if you can do that with Toyota Techstream.

Non hybrid limited has a button. Hybrids don't have a button.

I haven't driven one yet. But I was under the impression that if you put light pressure on the brake when you stop. The truck doesn't shut off, but if you press harder it will shut off. Can anyone confirm this?

Just what people in the desert SouthWest need, an automatic turning off of the vehicle
at red lights which keeps the fluids running through a piping hot engine so it stays super hot
    and blows up faster.

Stupidest idea anyone ever came up with.
Probably saves a nickles worth of gas over the life of the vehicle.
Nevermind the overuse of the starter and battery drain.

Let's all put out heads together and come up with the stupidest idea on the planet for vehicles and
    make everyone use it.

    I'll start:
Automatic total deflation of tires when the vehicle gets below 1mph, then automatic re-inflation at 2mph, powered by the battery.
Upside?... we can sell more batteries and tires....

Exactly what is the main benefit of the hybrid engine in the 24 Tacomas? Really no increase in gas mileage it seems. Is it just for the added horsepower when needed for acceleration, towing, etc.? If so, why bother switching from gas engine to hybrid motor at stop lights?

Added torque and horsepower. The same with the hybrid Tundra.

Less emissions. Same goes for start/stop.
