If they really wanted to save gas and reduce emissions imagine what could happen if they banned drive throughs.......

I could do with fewer Chick-fil-A drive throughs around here, what a pain.

Do cars in other countries have auto start stop?

Most 'other countries' are like small, like smaller than the size of Texas. Imagine driving through 3 countries in 5 hours.
Last time I drove through Texas it took the better part of a day.
Couple that with most 'stuff' being within walking or biking distance in well planned cities, so there are far fewer cars in European countries.

    China is another story.

Europe had stop-starts for many years before the US. Apparently they typically idle more over there, so there are more savings.

Every vehicle I’ve been in that has stop/start also has temperature limits on it. If it’s warm or cold enough the engine does not shut off. It’s a super simple solution to your problem.

It was years ago, and very well may have taken a day and a half. My memory has seen better days.
It's a whopper of a state for sure.

You can do it in 12 hours, at 75mph, without stopping. :D

It’s no use telling them that. Nor is it any use telling them about how easy it is to not have it activate just by not over-pressing the brake pedal. They’re way more interested in bitching about this system that they don’t know the first thing about.

They don’t know it’s parameters, they don’t know how it operates, they don’t know how much fuel it saves, they don’t know how easy it is to prevent it from operating, but they sure are angry about it. Everybody loves having things to be angry at so it might as well be this random system.

I can confirm that my 24 TRD Off Road does not have stop/start interruption.

That was one of the main selling points when I test drove my 23 Tacoma, no start/stop. Some people like it, I detest it on every vehicle I've driven that has it.

Unless you are buying a Limited trim 2024 model then you do not have to worry about it....for now.
