Auto stop-start feature BAD for turbo

Ya'll act like turbos and auto start are new things that Toyota is trying for the first time. These technologies have been used for years across nunerous makes and models, none of which have had high failure rates or spontaneously combusted into a ball of flame.

There are all sorts of conditions that have to be met for AS/S to work. I have not checked the exact parameters for the Tacoma but for example on my Grand Cherokee, it will not shut off the engine if the A/C is on, if you stop and turn the wheel to the right (thinks you're turning after stop), engine not up to temp yet, and many other reasons. Doesn't matter for me though. The very first thing I did was buy the Smart Stop Start module which disables the default to on feature of the AS/S system. So whatever state I put the button in, that's how it stays until I hit the button again and it's been off now for six years.

 

I thought I read somewhere that the auto start stop feature is only on 2wd models...is that correct?

 

It was a joke, trolling the idiots who are inventing reasons to be scared of this harmless system that has been around for many years.

I too have driven many cars with this and I’ve never had a negative experience with any of them.

 

If you AC is on the stop start is unavailable.
