I have the auto cc in mine. Wife likes it freezing, where I like to feel my fingers.

This is my experience, its a totally useless function when you first turn the vehicle on. Later on, you're always adjusting it the same way you would manual controls, only it's a few more steps.. I had two reasons not to buy the premium package. One was the Sunroof and the other was Climate Control.

Temperature control? I have 4 windows. 5 if you count the rear slider.

I guess I manually control the temperature by how many windows I open.

I have and like the manual and wonder if the auto coming on full blast at startup if set that way contributes to blower failures? If the instant max torque isn't doing the damage seen to some blowers? Just curious.

If it's cold outside it blows cold air, if it's hot, it blows hot I can't imagine anyone in history sitting there thinking to themselves, oh, this is nice as it blows the wrong temperature air in your face full blast.

I'm talking about the fan speed regardless of settings. If it kicks on full speed instantly at startup to get the temp to the setting. Just curious as I have the manual.

I'm with you, I don't like climate control at all. Every vehicle we've had with climate control immediately gets turned off. On the chance it was turned on, it's immediately shut off the second the vehicle is turned on. I imagine it's probably not a good thing to run it full blast out of the gate.

It doesn't go 0-100 instantly. It steps up over a few seconds smoothly.

Because the fan motor isn't meant to run at the highest setting or anything...

I had an 05. If you think transmission threads are rampant now, you should have seen the blower motor threads around here 10 years ago. I never used mine on my 05 full blast and it lasted 13 years that I had it. Could be a fluke, but mine did last..

    Ah ok, makes sense then.

I don't keep cars that long, so I don't really care that much. Mine gets put on Auto and set between 70-72*F depending on if the baby is in the truck with me or not.

I've got auto, which I always leave on, but if I had manual, it wouldn't be a deal breaker.

    It does work pretty well.

Manual climate control = rear chrome bumper caps on the OR...yuck

Heated Seats, Auto Climate Control, and Auto Headlights are the reasons I spent the extra money on the Premium & Tech Package...worth it IMO.

Meh, they're all nice, but I could live without them--especially the sunroof! Rear chrome bumper is an easy fix. Paint it or aftermarket. In fact, if it weren't for Toyota's stupid placement of the BSM sensors, I would've gone aftermarket already.

I did NOT want a sunroof, but it came with the package...oh well.

If I had waited a year, I would have just bought a Pro and got everything I really wanted.

I'm impartial BSM and Parking Sensors, I could live without them.

Sunroof for me was a deal breaker. The roof was so dang low.

I miss the auto from my Subaru, didn't get it with the Tacoma, but it's not a huge deal.
