I could be 100% wrong, but neither ECU on either truck had issues for me. The trucks ran as well as they ever did after the manual was swapped in. It will throw a CEL but all the codes are related to the auto trans that is no longer in the truck. For me, it never had a negative effect on how the trucks performed. Actually ended up getting better gas mileage and power from the manual swap. And the template I had was made out of sheet metal, but regardless of material, the template makes running the master cylinder 10x easier.

Glad to see a little bit of light in this tunnel haha, I think I might just go for swapping my auto into the donor then. And if the donor doesn’t work, it’s whatever but I’d like to get two trucks out of this. If possible

There's always at least a glimmer at the end of the tunnel haha. And I'll throw this out there FWIW, that throwing an auto trans into a manual truck could have a few issues unless you swap the ECU from the auto as well. The ECU in the manual won't run the auto trans. Just a heads up but you may have already had that same thought. And I saw it mentioned earlier about whether the t case in the auto will run on the manual. As far as I know, the T case on an A340F will bolt up to a R151F, if my memory serves me correctly. But it's been awhile since I was under a 1st gen in that much detail haha.
