    when do you or recommend that i change the tranny fluid and filter???? would it be cheaper to do it myself??? i got quoted 200 for everything. Is that good or bad??

    i dont know if this is true but i have an 09 and the dealer told me its every 100,000 miles

    I have an 09. Maintenance schedule says 96,000 km (it's a Canadian vehicle) for the transmission fluid. 100,000 miles seems a bit high.

    so it really easy to change it yourself???? what about changing the filter or filters....

    $200 for them to do it isn't bad. You can do it yourself but the shops have a machine to back flush the torque convertor and flush any particulates out. You don't get that with a drain and refill.

    Some dealers have been telling people not to change the fluid at all. Personally, I'll be looking to change mine around 50,000 miles as I've done with all my vehicles in the past.

    so it better for a shop to do it???? it sound pretty easy to do. Also how about changing the oil filter???

    If you can't do it it better be because your landlord won't allow it or you're severely handicapped. As for service interval.. am I the only one that got a manual with my truck?
