I like to put it in S5, ECT on, traction control off. Seems to really wake up the performance when I need it, but more often than not, I just leave it in D for better mileage.

I leave mine in D and wish I didn’t have a tach. It’s not really my business what gear the automatic transmission is in( the whole point of the auto is I don’t care) I turn up the radio and pay attention to the road. If it just had a speedo like an Oldsmobile delta 88 then no one would care about the gear their auto tranny was in. Just drive. If you need to go faster push down on the accelerator, if you need to ease up back off on the right pedal. Need to slow down fast or come to a stop, the left pedal. The tachometer just mindfucks drivers. Most drivers would be better off without it (tachometer)gives the illusion of control that is not granted.

S6 for me, disables the active learning which I had annoyances with. Sometimes it would hang in 4th

I use all modes and combinations of the transmission. Boring drive to work, just D to try and get the best MPGs as possible. Driving in heavy snow around the city today, S3 and 4 wheel. Mountain driving, all gears in S mode to up shift and down shift frequently. To also use engine breaking and more performance up hills. Can keep RPMs up for best torque. Aggressive busy city highway driving, S5 with ect on. Off road, many other combinations depending on the circumstances. Flat highway driving, S6 and dynamic radar cruse control on following a Semi leisurely drinking my coffee in perfect driving conditions. I dunno, I like to be in control of the truck at all times to some degree. Sometimes just relaxing and enjoying the scenery and drive.

Or you alter the refreshments your drinking, it won't be such a boring drive!
