auto trans shift lever rotates?

ok...I searched for this, didnt find anything....so,this is probably a minor thing, but after 6 weeks with my 2016 SR5, auto 6 speed, I noticed that if I twist the shifter while in any gear, it will rotate in its little leather apron. Dont know how far it will twist, but it moves fairly easily 25-30 degrees both ways . Of course I discovered this by accident, but thought it odd.
Has anyone noticed this ? It may not be a problem, but I have never noticed such a thing before on any vehicle I have owned.
maybe I should have been more specific...its the whole shifter, not just the knob, or kunckle, the shaft rotates too.

Doesnt seem it should do that. It'll be time for 5000 mile oil change and check up soon. Its on the list to check
