Hello All, I am very new to the forum. Just purchased a 3rd Gen. Tacoma TRD ( in early August ) and had a question on whether anyone has experienced this same issue. I don't want to repeat previously asked questions, so I have read previous threads about the transmission " hunting " , etc. but mine is a bit different. If and only if the vehicle stood for a few hrs or overnight, when I put it in reverse, it often has a delay and then " softly " thunks into gear ( doesn't feel normal ). It also intermittently feels like it gently goes in and out of gear as I reverse. Then, may also have a weird delay feeling when I put it in Drive. This all happens only the first few feet after starting in reverse the first time and not again once the truck is warm. Am I being too picky ? Or is this perhaps a programming issue ? Not too sure to live with it or have it looked at ( hard to take it in with intermittent issues sometimes ).
Any thoughts or suggestions are most appreciatted.
    Cheers, Peter

Toyota currently has a TSB out for this problem, you are not the only one. Search the forum for TSB 0077-16

Another vote for the TSB, mine did the same delay before, does not do it at all since.

I would suggest having a copy of that TSB with you during this process. There seems to be a lot of playing dumb by the service advisers.
