This line of thinking and lack of foresight is why the government keep shoving laws down our throats. People keep proving they're unable to make responsible decisions, so they force them upon us, and then force even more just for good measure. Act like a child, get treated like a child. Wanna be treated like a man, act like one.

Hey, the cats went out so I took em off and removed the muffler.
If the government thinks that I should install a new catalytic converter, then they can be my guest to buy me a new one or give me a tax write off on one.
In all seriousness though, the truck hardly ever gets driven anymore except for pulling my boat and mud bogging. I'm no chemist, but I doubt that one tundra that gets maybe 2000 miles a year put on it is detrimentally hurting the environment. Correct me if I'm wrong of course.
If it's a big concern to you, you can pay for a new catalytic converter for me ;)

Multiply your attitude by ever vehicle in the US, then it makes a big difference. But you are above the law.

Let me know your address and I'll send you a new catalytic converter. Or Rosco P. Coltrane. ;)

And why don't they just pay for your oil changes, tuneups, tires, and gas while they're at it. I mean you didn't purchase a vehicle knowing full well you'd have to maintain it.... You're just driving my point home. Your lack of willingness to take responsibility forces the government to force you to take responsibility and next thing you know you're in a communist state.

I agree with 2008taco here on this one. I am guessing you have no children Tacomawill? If so, then you should truly be ashamed of yourself for not giving a damn about what they breath. And btw, sure you STATE my not have emission control requirements, but a little FYI, FEDERAL law states you must have cats installed, so you ARE actually breaking the law by removing them.

I should be ashamed of myself, really?
I'll repent and put my catalytic converter back on when you stop spraying aerosol cans, stop burning wood, stop using deodorant and hairspray, stop lighting candles, stop using your refrigerator, remove all the insulation from your house, and turn your AC and heat off. Everything I've listed pollutes the environment.
Think before you speak; check yourself out before you start trying to correct someone else's actions.

There is no appreciable performance difference from not running a cat. Most of your other arguments are silly and do not merit response.

If the guv'ment says you need car insurance, should they pay for that too?

Really? You want to go that far? OK, let's play. Hmmm. last time I checked, I only use non-CFC aerosol cans, which are legal, also nothing illegal about burning wood, and using deodorant (I don't use hair spray, not that vain), yep, everything you listed is still legal. Driving a Tacoma without a catalytic converter....yep. ILLEGAL by federal law.
