I gotta say, Autoanything's customer service is great.

I got my Extang Encore Tonneau cover here; I managed to strip one of the clamps and they sent me a new one right away.

I'm this close to buying Icon Stage 2's here too... :D

:woot: That's always good to hear! The management here has done a great job hiring really genuine people and filtering out the bad apples.

I'm familiar with Icon if you have any questions

So, I'm looking at Icon Stage 2 for a 2016 Tacoma TRDOR (DCSB).

How rough is the installation? I'm only handy-ish (handy capable?), but I did manage to install my Mobtown sliders and my tonneau cover without killing myself. I don't mind buying more tools if this is something your average bonehead can do.

In the instructions to install the rear shocks, it says to sand the shock mount? I'm not sure how this should be done. If I put these in myself I want to do it right, if I had a shop do it for me I'd want to know what to check for to make sure they did it right.

The rest actually looks pretty straightforward.

They say to sand the shock mounts? I'll need to read those instructions then haha. I have fox 2.0 in the rear that I got in a "kit" when I ordered my All Pro Std rear leaf springs, I only have Icon up front. My rear shocks were a direct fit, no sanding required.

    **** I Looked it up ****
I don't think "sanding" was the best verbiage here, more like cut or grind off a part of the bucket. You essentially need to notch it to accommodate room for the resi hose. If you don't cut this notch you will more than likely create a leak, I remember reading it in a thread on here.

    upload_2017-10-24_8-0-17.jpg

The front installation is very straight forward for the C/O. Your stock front assemblies are 3 nuts on the top and the one large bolt at the bottom. If memory serves correct the top nuts are a 14mm and the bottom bolt is a 19mm. That bottom guy can be tight so have a breaker bar or an impact driver to take it off. I can't recall the torque specs for re-installation but if you don't have a torque wrench I'd recommend getting one. Disconnecting the sway bar end link may be needed to help droop the suspension further as well. Sometimes the complete assemblies can be a pain to wiggle and maneuver out between the UCA, LCA, spindle and sway bar.

I would recommend jumping up to the stage 3 to get the UCAs as well. Those UCAs are a bit tedious to install on a 3rd gen since you need to cut the UCA through bolt off and then install the new bolt the opposite direction. They do however improve your range of travel and allow you to have a solid 2.5" of lift while retaining the correct alignment specs.

I've never personally installed an AAL however I've heard it's quite simple. Looking over the instructions it does appear to be an easy installation. Separating the axle and the leaf springs for the first time can be pretty intimidating but it's really not too bad. You're working with heavy parts that do have tension on them, so please think about what you're doing twice before proceeding forward with anything. Also do one side at a time to help keep the axle centered and to have a reference point if you need to check what the other side looks like.

Also if you don't already have them get some quality 6 ton jacks, the big guys. The smaller jacks weight wise will do, but they aren't always tall enough. The 6 ton jacks are quite a bit taller.

^ Hopefully that all makes sense, I'd happily clear something up if it doesn't. Being your first time really getting in there and wrenching on some major components recruit some friends more mechanically inclined or better yet some local members! People are usually motivated to work for pizza and beer.

Another question, Are you familiar with how Icon suspension feels and rides? Some love it, some hate it. I can also get my hands on Fox and King and can still piece together a "kit" by pairing it with the Icon UCAs and AAL. I ask because I am very happy with my Icon C/Os but... IMO King feels better. Their progressive valving has a different ride characteristic at slower speeds vs Icon's digressive valving which does ride like butter when moving more quickly but can be a bit harsh at slow speeds.

Sorry, long post, there's so much to talk about when it comes to high end suspension!

:notsure: Maybe. Lol. I wish I had an answer for you, but the team that sets the pricing and sales doesn't let us know ahead of time when things are going on sale.

AutoAnything no longer offers Switch Pros, I'm not quite sure why it's still shown online but it should be removed soon.

Oh wow that one sounds badass! The color picker is neat, but the higher amperage ability sounds really promising. Color coded wires will be nice too.

My work dropped the entire brand :pout: Someone much higher up in the food chain than me decided we weren't making enough money with their products so they removed them. I even had an open order for a forum member for one during this which was cancelled (I still feel bad about that).

@eccracer104 what is up with FALL22 working on ARB awning walls, but not the awning itself? I would buy if it worked on the awning

It used too, I think I used it on too many awnings for members and someone figured it out and put a stop to it :bananadead:
Which awning are you looking at? I'll see what I can do!
