    The basics
Is there a setting or process to automatically lock the vehicle after I leave it parked say in a parking lot or at home?

Obviously other than clicking the lock button on the remote, my old vehicle did it and I'm forgetting.

I don’t believe there is but if you unlock your truck and don’t open the doors it will auto relock I think 30seconds-1minute after and it’s all customizable on the touchscreen.

My 2020 would lock the doors after a period of time. It annoyed the hell out of me and learned I could disable it via the settings in the head unit. I don’t have keyless entry or the fancy head unit.

THIS… is the reason I have the remote start/cellular option. I hate leaving the parking lot wondering if I locked or not. This way I can check and respond appropriately wherever I’m at.
I do wish it had the option to lock the doors when you walk away from the vehicle…

That setting is only good for when unlocked and not opened, as @Thatblackyota stated above. It will not auto-lock when you turn off and walk away.

I usually hit the lock button on my door when I exit my truck. I use the unlock feature on the door handle to unlock the doors, as I have it setup where all doors lock/unlock together.

    Easy peasy.

Auto lock after few seconds and also touch the door handle.

My 2019 CRV does, but, my 2023 Tacoma with technology doesn't. Go figure.

I'm old and lazy but have no problem touching door button or fob to lock. I've locked keys in vehicles with auto lock. Cost me $100 and loss of 2 hours skiing at a ski resort parking lot 1 time. Also accidently locked a grandkid in and had to call a locksmith.

I lock my truck by touching the driver door handle. I push the lock button on the Fob as I walk away and listen for the beep. Been in this habit for 8 years and have never left my truck unlocked.

They don’t want the truck, they just want the tailgate and the converters.
