I’m a minority here. I have an unlimited car wash pass. It goes through the wash about twice a week. To be honest I see no marks at all and my truck is black. I’m a big YES.

Not sure if you were asking me, but none of the 4 Toyota dealers in Rochester had a Pro, and the best I could do was order one and wait 2-3-? months. I drove to Watertown, NY 2 hours away to get mine, which had just been delivered by carrier an hour before I called them. Bought it sight unseen over the phone and drove it home 4 days later. Waite Toyota in Watertown - awesome dealer and a great buying experience! Needless to say, given the trials & tribulations posted by many in trying to get a Pro (price gouging, long waits, first born sacrifices), I feel very lucky!

My truck is black and I have had the idea of getting my truck Line-X'ed pretty much since I got it. I'm thinking I would do mine in the color of this 2014 Tacoma. Be nice to never wax again and just hose it off and go about your business.

Since you are in NY, have you had undercoating applied? I'm in one of the worst rust belts on earth (Atlantic Canada) and wouldn't think of leaving my Taco exposed to the salt/brine without it. I plan on keeping mine for many years BTW.

To circle around to your question, I usually wash the crap off myself at the car wash with wand only- unless it's stupid cold out. Then I'll use an auto wash but without brushes and NO underbody spray. This will only blast the undercoating off, as I have Rust Check (very similar to Fluid Film). In the warmer months I hand wash of course, two bucket method.

Enjoy your truck man, and have fun :)

If I lived back in Cleveland again I'd be undercoated and fluid filmed in addition to an annual wax marathon.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Automatic car washes are swirlmark hell!!! Just think.....all the cars that entered before you left their dirt and salt in the brushes which then gets smacked into your clear coat over and over again.

If you must use an Auto car wash, go pay the money to get the Xpel paint protection package. (Clear wraps the whole truck) ceramic coating the wheels and everything else. Then you can take it through an Auto car wash every day for 10 years and it will still look brand new.

On the other hand, if you can’t afford that package....just use caution when washing. Use good soaps (chemical guys is my choice) microfiber mits or rags, 2 bucket wash method, never wash in circles, (wash side to side),

I used to be one of those who subscribed to hand-wash only. Then life happened. Got married. Had a kid. Had a career. Had another kid. So, along with the cold weather outside, I have no hesitation going through the auto car washes. If you bring your car to the dealer, chances are they'll run your truck through the wash. Even the big mainstream luxury brands don't hand wash their customers' cars.

Keep in mind the touchless uses chemicals to try and get the dirt and salt off your truck. I used it a few times, and for me, they didn't work too well.

If you tell the service advisor when he is filling out your ticket not to wash it they won't wash it. Telling them each time is not something I'm soon to forget. I put enough micro scratches in the paint just fine by myself.

Mine never see the inside of a car wash, or the touch of a dealer's wash mitt. That's in Texas of course so I feel your northern pain. Two bucket, after foam cannon. But I'm a bit OCD about washing. I'll let 'em get dirty of course, they are after all meant for driving. But when I wash, it's an affair.

Prior comments about all the mechanical washes hold true.... going to get those tiny swirls from dirty contact.

Depending on your budget, you might pay for a pro detailer to come do yours once a month in the winter months? Just ask for the outside or be done.
