Is it the automatic choke on these trucks that keep them from starting like the tundras? i never payed much mind to it but i was in my buddys tundra earlier and he can turn his key to start and then let it go and the truck will go on ahead and crank, where as if i do the same mine just craps out. I have to hold it until it starts, never payed much mind to it before, and just curious if anybody knows.

If I'm understanding you, what's happening on the tundra is the key start position is basically like an engine start button. Once you hit the engine start, the vehicle electronics do the rest. Nothing to do with a auto choke.

I haven't been in a new tundra, so I don't know about their start systems.

yea, that's it. just like a start button, ones its pressed the vehicle just starts on its own. And i wasn't sure if our trucks having the auto choke on it is what kept Toyota from giving us that function.
