Hi everyone. I have been searching and can not find an answer to my question. Is there a way to make ALL your doors unlock automatically when you put the truck in park???? I had a 3/4 ton Chevrolet and it would unlock all the doors when you put the truck in park. That option is VERY convenient and is one of the things I miss most from a full size. It beats having to manually hit the unlock button when you get out and go to the other side of the truck. I have not trained myself to do it yet in the 6 months I have had the truck. I am hoping there is a way to do it. Any thoughts from the pro's??????

There's a procedure for reprogramming the keyless entry to lock the doors when the ignition key is turned on and unlock them when turned off. I've never tried it, so I can't vouch for it, but I have it if you want to try.

Unlike other vehicles .... like my wife's Accord ..... you don't need to shift the "lock" switch to open the doors .... the door handle unlocks and opens the door.

I just noticed this last week when I was driving her car and realized that I had an additional step to perform to open the locked door.

Okaaaay, but, as I said already, I can't vouch for it. Let us know if it works or you get dizzy - whichever comes first:

Programming option allows you to set the doors to lock whenthe key is turned on, and unlock when the key is turned off:

    1. Open the driver’s door. Remove the key from the ignition.

    2. Complete these steps within 30 seconds:

    a. Insert the key into the ignition switch

    b. Close, then open the driver’s door 2 times

    c. Turn the key from LOCK to ON 5 times, ending atON

    3. Programming option (select one of the following):

    a. Ignition controlled lock ON – close the driver’sdoor

    b. Ignition controlled lock OFF – close the driver’sdoor twice, leaving it closed

    4. Turn the key to LOCK. The programming is complete. If programming did not occur, start over.

Yes, but first you have to kill the Wicked Witch of the West and defeat her legion of evil winged monkeys. And don't forget to wear the ruby slippers....

Update: I found that this info was listed on this forum earlier here:

I wouldn't like that and would absolutely not want it when my wife is driving... but that's not your question I guess.

Now, all doors LOCK when the put in D, or starts rolling? THAT I would like. To bad I couldn't get the one without the other.

I appreciate you looking. I tried those instructions but I think those are to program transmitters and not change how the locks function.

I think there's no automatic lock in drive and unlock in park for us. :(

That would be a feature I would be interested in .... got to be a way. Ford had it in their cars 15 years ago.
