Lately I’m noticing my 2021 off-road auto high beam indicator readout not displaying, and therefore not automatically changing low/ high beams, even after activating them properly. I cleaned the high beam sensor on the dash but that didn’t help. Any thoughts.

    Thanks.

I need to ask a real silly question. Is the "AUTO" switch on the lower left dash pushed in?

    Oh look, another mod....
Don't forget to push the stalk on the left hand side of the wheel inwards, this is the second part of the step that triggers it to come on automatically.

If the switch is engaged, the stalk is in "bright" position, and there is no ambient light outside to trigger the sensor, than I'm afraid that your next move is to take advantage of that dealer warranty.

I hate using it because I need to blind oncoming idiots mostly to let them know their high beams are on! sorry, I meant to say....check to see if your sensor is seated all the way (the plug to it).

Okay, you've done everything you can possibly do. Time to sell the truck with a salvaged title. I'll offer you 40% of what the truck is worth, you know, because I'd have to fix that annoying Auto-High beam problem.

You should also check your fuses.

This sensor in the passenger's side dash is NOT for the high beam feature. The camera behind the cab mirror is what detects oncoming traffic to switch to low beams.

I mean, probably for the best it doesn’t work anymore lol. I was driving behind a car just the other day and man, dude could have given somebody a seizure with how much they go on and off. And at the worse times.

if the dimmer bright sensor is on the rear view cab mirror, the owners manual is wrong-possible I suppose.

Those temporary sensor sensitivity instructions are odd since you can just scroll through the screen and just change the setting

I don’t have the book in front of me but I believe it’s on the same page as the instructions to use the auto dimming feature.

I gather you don't require assistance, since you scroll through...

this isn’t a sensor sensitivity issue because the dimmer/bright icon by the speedometer does not light up (intermittently) when the proper steps are taken to initiate auto dim/ bright feature. Other times it works just fine.

if the auto brite feature is engaged but doesn’t show the icon, and then I disengage the switch (on the left below the steering wheel), the brights are on, just as if I simply pushed the stalk forward to use the brights manually.

    Oh look, another mod....
I just noticed something when driving home today.

I have the auto-high beams set to on. The button is pressed, the stalk is pressed inward to enable it, and I have the stalk set to "Auto". The sun was out (we had rain all day), and because it was so bright out, the icon did not pop up on my tach/display.

I never noticed this before, but the icon only appears when it is dark enough, like at night, during dusk or on cloudy days.

    Could this be the reason?
