    I'm developing an automatic sway bar disconnect system and am wanting to get an idea of what demand would be.

    The system would allow you to disconnect your front sway/ stabalizer bar at the push of a button without leaving your cab.

    If you like to sway then you'd want to disconnect your sway bar :D

    Do you seriously need more of an explanation?

    Kinda, except up/ down
    True, but they're often referred to as "Sway Bars". Though, the purpose of this thread is not to quibble over nomenclature.

    I've thought about removing mine, but I still do the occasional high speed maneuvering on pavement.

    see i thought about this. what is the real benefit of not running your sway bar. i have six inch lift so i don't need anymore body roll but i would really like to get a little bit more travel out of my set up.

    When you disconnect/ remove your sway bar, your front wheels can travel up and down independently. The advantages offroad are better articulation, ride quality, and down force on each tire (traction). If you're never disconnected your sway bar for offroading I suggest trying it. It makes a HUGE difference.

    I find there isn't that much body roll. Still handles very well. Noticable difference ofcourse.

    I'll tell you my offroad manners have changed, increased flex. In spots where I never experienced rub I am now rubbing, my tires tuck instead of the entire truck lifting.

    Not even $ badly...I guess I'm really just interested in where the bar will GO when you "disconnect" it. Your idea about a remote system...I assume the bar stays mounted and the ties to the spindle would release??

    I don't want one...I just removed me sway bar...and I've found a few things that I like about driving it this way...so it's staying deleted....unless my wife drives the drive and wants it back...:eek:

    The methodology is Top Secret, but it involves releasing from the mounting brackets instead of the spindles.
