My 2015 has 106k miles and I need to service transmission. I want to take off the pan and filter drain what oil I can refill with same amount and call it good. Knowing that old trans oil will still be in torque converter etc. is flushing with additional oil just good maintenance? Suggestions?

I recommend that you read through the threads I've linked, at least the first page of each. I recently went through and did a pan drop, filter swap, and then full flush service on my '06 with 202k miles at the time. It really isn't much extra work to run the fluid out of the truck, there's a method involving a clean pump sprayer if you have the factory tow package that made mine almost trivial.

I recently did the same service on a '06 TRD OR, wasn't difficult at all, handling the 13qts while avoiding spilling something or making a mess was the most difficult part, I skipped the OBD jumpering for trans temp and just shot the pan with the IR gun, if you go that route the IR pan reading is about 3 degrees lower (cooler) then what the ecu sees as it's coming up to temp.

The service got ride of a hard shift issue I was having but it didn't help the minor converter shudder Im having.
