This is a sweet car. TRD Release Series 1 FR-S. If they make the Release Series 2 in Lava, might just have to trade-in the corolla.

 

What's the series 1 difference with a normal one? And a series 2?

Yeah, pretty much. No performance gains unless you count the pecker performance from the tuned exhaust. They make 1600 of the series 1, all in that yellow.

Having it from new does mean you know the history, exactly what the vehicle has been thru.

I never buy the extended warranties on anyting I buy. If there are issues beyond normal maintenence, it will show up within the standard mfg warranty period. Granted this is not a true toyota (scion/subaru) but I think a new one is a safe bet.

The whole "certified" stuff is a gimmick of sorts. They make you pay a premium for it. It looks like about 2K is the addon price. I am sure it makes most buyers willing to overlook the fact that the car is flawed in some way. They figure that if there is a problem, they wont have to worry about it.

Besides, we both know that particular car should not have made that smell. It makes me wonder why someone would get rid of it at 17K.

 

I think everyone around here that has an FR-s goes up the tail of the dragon. i have talked to a few owners just in parking lots and they all have said they go up at least once a month. If i had a car i’d be up there every chance u could be.

Can’t have much fun this time of year though because the whole road gets covered in leaves.

 

Yes and no. weekends there is a few more cops. i have ben up and down it, and back up and down it and not seen 1 cop. heck most the times i have been on it there has not been any, most i have seen is 2 but that was just one time the other times it was just 1 cop. If you can go say august/september there should not be any. I think you have to watch out for slow drivers (some don’t like to use the pull offs) and people on bicycles more than cops. NC has restricted all vehicles 35’+ big semi’s get stuck some when they get on it. the tires or trailer go in the ditch or hit the side of the mountain or they off the side of the road. or people hit them coming around the blind corners.

spring and maybe early early summer they patrol a little more and around holidays are when there is the most cops. but i think those times of the yere there is more cops everywhere.
