Hello all, I’ve just purchased a 2010 Tacoma and I’m having issues with my aux cord. I’ve done some research and nothing quite lines up with my scenario.

as of right now I’m not getting any power to the aux. I’ve taken out the port and the connection seems fine and soldering seems to be held up. What worries me is there seems to of been moisture on the port at some point and I’m not sure where. It may have been sweating from the AC. I’m trying to find a solution that isn’t getting a new radio unit. Thank you

there shouldn't be any power at your 3.5mm auxilary input jack.

make sure it's fully seated into both the truck jack, and the devices headphone jack. many cases can prevent full insertion and cause weird issues.

I just watched a bunch of aux related videos and I didn’t realize there was a connection that is made in the jack that activates the stereo input when a cord is present. I’m not sure what exactly enables this, a relay or direct contact, but it’s on the board inside the jack.

If the solder joints look fine, first thing I would do is buy a new one and see if functionality is restored. You can get the OEM replacement, or a Chinese copy, there are a lot available online for minimal cost.
