If you are dead set on changing the fluid please God don’t use R/C shit it’s gonna go bad quick. Buy Motorex made in Switzerland and use fork/shock oil all synthetic, and single weights. Personally though the A/C is the culprit.

Agreed but at 9% RH here, & I don’t live in LA about 120 miles away, I live in a desert ever seen Rango?, A house A/C bill here is 3-500+ dollhairs, and almost no condensate comes out of my air handler on my house. I believe thats why Edwards AFB keeps the best aircraft here also instead of LA. Wanna see my frame?, rust free and shiny.

If I can chime two cents, I'd say AC in 1st gen Tacoma sucks comparing to modern vehicles. The heat exchange core is way to small in my opinion for what this truck needs. Even brand new crystal clear core does not cool the air fast enough when fan is on full speed. I did test with my truck idling: with 85F outside my AC puts 45F air at the vent when the air flow is at the lowest setting. When I put a cabin air fan at max rpm the temperature at the vent went up to 55F - the AC compressor was still "cycling" like the AC system was delivering more than it was received.

So I think the problem is on the receiving end. Even my tiny Nissan Versa Note does better job than this 20+ years old truck.

I’ll stick a thermometer on the vents running the truck outside tomorrow to prove I get 32* or less. The vents blow good with the stock squirrel cage, I’ll also get a temp of the asphalt I bet it will be triple digits easy! I’ll get into a versa at the dealership and see also for reference. I don’t doubt a newer car has geat a/c but my 09 Impreza is cold but not like my yota.
