I am interested in installing a secondary fuse box for accessories. When I start adding up all of the various items I will eventually want, it does add up (~10 different accessories).

I have a couple of different options that I have looked into:
Anyone have any thoughts on Blue Sea vs Bussman?

Anyone have any thoughts about building your own Bussman vs. just buying one?

I have read quite a bit through the various threads, but I would love to have a discussion about the differences, and why one would go with one system over the other.

A few mods here and there and counting....
I went DIY with a blue sea 6. I only have 6 accessories that needed power so it was a fun learning project. One day, ill go back and clean it up more by adding an area just for the relays as they're just bolted up underneath the panel(made by @paranoid56) Those built boxes i.e. spod, switch-pros, bussman, ect are ideal if you want a simple drop in unit w minimal wiring.

The major difference between blue sea vs Bussman is the ability to just have your fuses/relays all in one housing, no need to mount a bunch of relays all over your aux panel. That and the Bussman housing itself is waterproofed/resistant.

Otherwise whatever floats your boat they both do the same thing.

Building a Bussman yourself will only set you back a bit because you have to buy all the stuff in bulk. Most places are not just going to sell you certain items unless you purchase a set quantity. So you’ll be up having to spend more for the same thing.

My advice? Buy a preconpleted Bussman off eBay and upgrade it as you want. Or buy Bussman kit in bulk from Mouser/Digikey/whoever and make a few, keep 1, sell the rest for profit.

I bought the $119 or whatever it costs now off eBay. Only thing I did to it custom was upgrade some of the wiring.
