Did you try adjusting the BAS, MID and TRE settings? The OP did the same and even changed AUX cables but still had the same issue. It worked for me when using an iPod Touch. I should probably try other devices too.

Same problem on mine....a 2011 non-JBL....the Aux plays about 1/2 as loud as the CD or radio. Shit sucks & I haven't found a solution.

The built in aux is just terrible - I let my XM sirius expire (I was tired of arguing a good price every 3-6 months, and the sound quality really is terrible if you care about audio quality) and dealt with using the Aux to listen to pandora for a little over a month. My stereo cable is as good as one can get..thick monster cable with metal terminals, definitely overkill.

I think I had to turn the radio beyond more than halfway in order to get reasonable volume. It was so bad I finally gave in and got an aftermarket headunit with everything except touchscreen.

I've got the same problem I think. The max volume stops at like 64, right?

I just installed a 2015 Entune Plus radio in my 2012 Tacoma. Everything sounds great, but for some reason the USB port does not work now? All cables have been connected and the AUX works. Any suggestions?

The AUX was same way in my 2011. Until I changed out the head unit, problem solved. The stock head AUX input sucks. I am still using the factory AUX input with the aftermarket head unit and it works well now.

Ace, by head unit, you mean you replaced the main radio? Mine has been replaced on a few occasions for knobs not working and the radio turning itself on and off.

Yes, main radio. It is super easy to do. There are enough Youtube videos that I was able to do it with no trouble at all. Biggest trouble I ran into was I left a cd (yes I still use cd's. Better audio quality) in the old player and had to hook it back up to get it out. LOL.

Right on. I still use CD's as well! What type of aftermarket radio do you use?

have you tried using a different music app?

when i have pandora on, the volume output is higher.

I use both Spotify, Pandora and the stock music app for android, they all sound similar in volume.

Even when I connect an iPod, the volume is not loud. I have tried multiple cables, so my conclusion is either the port, or the radio.

One can never have too many light bars.
iTunes is much quieter when compared to Pandora, Spotify and Amazon Music.

I am using a Pioneer 3500. The unit is ok. If I had to do over again I probably would go with a different head unit. Probably a Kenwood. I still have my steering controls plus now my backup camera runs through it instead of the review mirror. I am able to use the aux port too. It works fine. So it has to be in the old head unit the reason for the low audio.
