Geekhouse, is that backing just a heatsink or is there a fan in there also? Do you notice any scatter with the LED vs. halogen when driving? Just curious for foul weather driving.

There's a fan in there as well. Because you are using the OEM housing and reflector bowl, you will still get the same beam pattern as you would with your OEM bulbs.

I was using them out in winter storm Linus last night and it was plenty of light. Was still able to see through blizzard conditions and winds blowing snow in every direction up to 30-40 mph  They performed great. Didn't stop me from having the auxiliary LED bars on though! Because; REASONS :D

Thanks for the review, that's exactly what I was looking for (especially because I was driving through similar conditions on the way into work this morning).

Is there a "How to install your LED wiring/switch for dummies" in this thread or elsewhere? My electrical install experience is limited to replacement batteries, hooking my winch to the battery posts and replacing fuses. :)

Anyone know if the Tacoma World prices/discount from the first page is still valid? If so then I might have to jump on one of those sweet looking CREE light bars.

You may have answered this already but how many lumens are the newer LED pods? and a price for 2? And do we have a choice between spot and flood? Thanks.

Is there a way to mount one of the larger (40" or 50") roof lightbars so that it DOES NOT stick up higher than the actual roof of the truck?

I would love to have something on the same level as the roof (when viewed from the front and side).
