HUGE thanks to Mike and Avec Lighting!!

    Felt obligated to do this:

*DISCLAIMER: This is for anyone who are on the fence about ordering from Avec.*

I ordered their 30" CREE Double row SPOT beam bar to fit into the lower grill of the stock bumper on my 2013 DCSB 4x4. Mike, mikevee, was there to answer all my questions via PM. He is very knowledgable, polite and patient

Went to the gym this afternoon and this was waiting at my door!!

Have to be honest, I was concerned about quality and shipping such a delicate product but they take care of that too!! The bar comes wrapped in bubble wrap and then the box is lined in 3/4" foam all around.

    FREE GOODIES!!

    - t-shirt
    - sticker
    - assorted business contact cards
    - LED bulbs (interior I assume :notsure: can you confirm Mike?)

Last, but not least, the light!! Comes with all the necessary mounting hardware and tool (allen key) The wiring is REALLY flexible unlike the other bar I have which I think is really nice.

*did notice some excess sealant(?) on the right side that seems to have spilled over from the face of the light. Not a big deal, a straight blade and 2 minutes will take care of that*

All-in-all REALLY happy with the product and my choice. Now, I just need to get it mounted!!

Still undecided on how I will mount it:

    (1) Rigid Mounts
    (2) Ghetto-fab (angle iron and bolts FTW!!)

Also, going to look into a cover for it; both amber (yellow) and black. Still need to see which cover will work. I heard in this thread Rigid's work but still skeptical.

I can post pics here once I get it mounted etc.

Thanks again Mike!! Definitely a future customer! ;)

Glad you liked it man! the LED's can be used as either your map lights or license plate lights :D whichever you would prefer.

Super sorry to hear about the sealant, our guy when he was testing must have missed it, and i really do apologize.
i have personally tried the rigid covers and they did infact fit. Send us a picture of it when its all set up and we'll throw it on the site and/or catalog! :)

Well, I already have the map light LEDs from jumper on here, but I was looking to do the license plate lights! :D

As for the covers, I emailed Rigid to see if they can give me an measurements on the covers but they wouldn't provide me hard numbers. They said that if you have the E series, just order the E-series cover. Sounds like they have dealt with this in the past where people who aren't buying Rigids but are looking for covers that fit.

Pricing it out, I am going to spend around half of the cost of the LED bar on my config of covers  just because they say rigid on them...glad I save on the bar at least

    :pout:

Well, I thought I would check back in..

Did a mock up of the light tonight after I did some research here and I think I could use two self tapping screws on either side of the light drilled into the front crash bar but I am unsure how secure that would leave the light

I think I might try this option before shelling out some coin on that Rigid mount

Also installed the LED license plate bulbs. Can't wait for it to get dark and test them out!

What you are doing is what I did. And I can tell you this. Mine didn't f'n move. We almost broke it taking it out so I could get the front bumper off.

    Thanks for posting.

Did you have to do anything drastic to get it off? I don't want to almost break the bar and ruin the light just to take it off.. I would want it to be easily serviceable and removed.

I was able to find a site that took $14 off the Rigid mount with a TW discount so it comes out to: $ 64.73 + $9.95 shipping = $74.68

    Rigid why you so expensive....

Because their name. You can do the angle iron and not Nit attach the light to the crash bar but attach that. The hardest thing in getting mine off was I mounted it flush with the outside of the bumper. And there was no room for the correct tools to get in there. I used a right angled drill to put it in.

    UPDATE:

Blew a 10AMP fuse because I forgot to change it  just swapped in a 30AMP. I need to figure out a different mounting point for the license plate to let this thing shine like the sun! Did not cut up the lower grill yet. Going to test it out tonight to see how much light passes through but will most likely be cutting it out to easily swap Rigid covers. Can't wait until tonight!!

Loving this thing day by day!!
