My 21 Sport is averaging 16.1 in the first 250 miles. The kicker is I have full size Mercedes Sprinter that averages 20.2 loaded with about 2k of equipment.

Definitely get a Prius. Mine’s got enough carbon fiber in the hatch to make grown TRD Bros grab themselves like Michael Jackson and make small dog sounds. Dammit I love talking about MPGs!

Yeah I was surprised I was getting at least 25 mpg, especially for a truck. Hey, ill take it! Gas prices just keep going up & up especially in California.

I forgot to mention I usually put on cruise control in the morning between 65-75 and taking it off here and there when a stupid driver is ahead. I also just added a tonneau cover, if that helps any bit.

Strange, only 2 data points 19 or higher yet the average is 19.1. Average looks more like 17 now. I guess it used to be better.

    Dreaming......

Fuel mileage on a short trip has very little meaning.

You should be looking at fuel mileage over a tank of fuel. This will "average" out factors like weather, wind, hills, driving style, terrain, traffic, city, highway.......

Shoot coming down the East side of the Rockies, you could get really great fuel mileage. Wouldn't mean anything. I s'pose you would have an idea for fuel mileage with the engine idling rolling downhill.

Correct. That graph shows last 12 months. I cut my highway driving down like 90% since the RONA... below is the 3 year view:

I am only getting 17-19 after a 3" lift and KO2s and I am ok with it, a lot of rolling hills and people turning, so I have to accelerate up them.

sortof stock. 6112/5160, pro wheels and a tune.
in stock form on my sr5 dclb, getting 25-27 wasnt hard actually. driving 60ish. but thats not always possible. got 27 going to the beach once, also on the little stock 245 highway tires.

on my 32” wildpeaks i can get 22-23 if i have good traffic at 60mph.

generally- i get 19ish because traffic always is shit here in maryland/dc beltway.

I average 19MPG (15L/100kms) and I drive the truck like its a rental. I am curious how much I would get if I drove it easy but life is too short to worry about a couple extra MPG's!

16 or so is pretty typical for me. I can get 18-19 if it's a 60mph highway drive, or 14 if it's an 85mph highway drive.

Every time i do a short 25 mile drive that consists of city /highway when its around 60-70 degrees, i always get 19.5 mpg. Only time i got slightly worse was when towing my boat.

A few weeks ago I picked up 1000 pounds of metal roofing, drove easy on the way home and managed 20 MPG.

Yes and no. Given that you have a 2nd gen, I'll cut you a bit of slack. The 3rd gens show trip fuel economy after shutting off the truck. That's what everyone is showing. In a lot of cases, the people who have ridiculously high mph are going down hill. On mine I happened to be going on mostly flat ground in the direction which is normally against the wind (I believe it was calm that day). Normally on that same stretch I get about 22-23. The average fuel economy over the life of the tank, according to the computer, has been relatively close according to my calculations at the pump.
