I'm not sure if that works for your truck or not. I assumed the controls and stuff did t change much. It took me awhile to get my camera to work. I literally messed with it for about a week. My next option was going to be a license plate mounted camera since they are just plug n play

What is your cell phone mount. @SCFirefighter
I want to upgrade my radio bad. I have an older 3200bt but thinking of giving it to the wife and putting a newer one in that has more connection to my phone.

Also anyone add steering wheel phone controls in their 2nd Gen that didn't come with, derails if so please

It's a Qi charger I bought when I still had my Nexus 5. I don't have it hooked up to power anymore since my Nexus 5X doesn't do wireless charging. The plug you see there just goes into my phone, and the Qi charger is basically just a cradle at this point.

I did this with the Pioneer Avh-x5500bhs in my 2009 TRD Sport Tacoma with JBL 2 years ago. This is the best sounding system with only changing the head unit I have ever heard. It sounds better than a $90,000 car's sound system. Not joking. I have family with BMW's, Land Rovers', Mercedes, and even a $9,000 stereo upgrade in a 2011 Shelby GT500. They all are pissed that mine sounds better with just an aftermarket head unit tied into the factory JBL system. I am now upgrading the head unit to the AVH-X5800bhs and I think all the plugs and Sirius and all that should just plug in.

there seems to be 3 or more connecters that do not plug in to the new head unit when using the crux 61s. Is that correct? did you just stuff it behind the head unit? thanks

If I remember correctly, yes. It's been a while though but if anything is unused just stuff it back there somewhere. That harness is huge and doesn't leave much room.

You will get the backup camera to work with that setup. It takes some playing around to get it to work though. I can post my headunit settings for the camera if needed. And I do believe that HD radio is the only difference.

I'm debating this unit ... compared to this Joying one.
They're priced about the same... but the Joying unit has Android integration... including Google Maps and Waze...

Can the Pioneer HU use Google Maps or Waze?

The pioneer has a gps unit you can buy extra and it's rather pricey. I just use my phone for gps. I also haven't heard good things about those android units. There is a thread or two about them on here somewhere

That's an option on the Android units but they can also use Google Maps and Waze as an app.

Yeah... seems to be hit or miss. Either it works great or it craps out within 6-12 months. That's the problem.

Here are the settings that have have for the camera. I literally had to take my head unit out 4 or 5 times and played with the wiring then the settings before I got it to work. I'm not sure what the deal was with that but I kept running out of time so I put it back together and tried again later.

I have the crux 61s, pioneer 5800. I used your settings on the head unit, but I still don't have the backup camera on the head unit... any thoughts?

That's the problem I had when I installed mine. It took me a few tries with the wiring and then I messed with the settings and it started to work. I'm not 100% sure what I did to get it working.
I just posted the settings that I'm using on the radio that works for me. I was hoping that was the issue I had but apparently not since you're having the same problems.
When I installed mine I took it out numerous times and unhooked everything and put it back together then I played with the settings.
Hopefully you get it to work soon.

Doing the install, finally have time...
Used all harnesses provided by crutch field, there are two factory plugs that will no longer be used, is that correct?
