I'll say!! The float base fuelled my passion for flying when I was young. Still no finer flying machines IMHO than the de Havilland rodents.

Here's an old picture, circa 1960's I'm guessing, of the same float base. Appears that the Norseman was king back in those days. Never seen so many in one place.

Nice! I have about 350 hours in several tired Seminoles as well. I actually enjoyed that airplane.

I think I had just about every mechanical problem a small airplane can throw at you during my Seminole days. Gear would come down, prop governor failure, engine failure, engine wouldn't restart during practice shutdowns, alternator failure, vacuum failure, etc. I learned a lot from that plane.

I have around 200hrs in the Seminole. They've been good so far but its only a matter of time before something fails. The worst I've had is an alt failure. We do have one plane that is known for not coming out of feather after a practice shut down. I try to avoid doing practice shutdowns in that plane.

Mechanical failures are not-common but normal in light aircraft. I've had alternator failures, starter failures, radio failures, flat tires, a nose gear that didn't extend, two major oil leaks that obscured the windscreen, etc... It is all part of the fun. On my first solo cross country the engine swallowed a valve when I was entering the pattern. That flight was pretty exciting.

A prop not coming out of feather has something going on that can be corrected. Either too much pressure in the prop cylinder, accumulator pressure is off, or the governor needs adjustment.

Not if you're on the ground in Colorado.

Or have a technician take a look at it, either A&P familiar with propellers & governors or a prop shop tech.

Hahaha, saw the note "Do not grab". Thought is said "Do not crab"...
That would certainly take the fun out of things.
