The T7 is an awesome airplane. Not only because of its range & lift capabilities but, it's a well sorted airplane that makes working on it easy & enjoyable.

    I typically work Boeing 757, 767, 777, Airbus 310, A300, "Boeing" MD/DC10-10/30 & MD11 but, the 777 is my pick.

It's an AIM-9X Captive Air Training Missile. Typically only flew with one so that we could get all the correct cockpit indications, including seeker tone during Basic Fighter Maneuvers.

    Yep, flares.

    Yeah....fast :D

Seriously though, depending on where you are on the range they are allowed to fly close to Mach. If they fly over low and fast it'll take a second for the sound to catch up and if they're in a canyon you likely won't hear them until they're on top of you.

I have watched the dvd version of ground school by ASA and have been doing some research. At this point it feels overwhelming....I look forward to the challenge though.

My dad is a licensed private pilot and owns a Cessna 182, but he hasn't flown in a few years.

I really want to get my license when I have the time and money to dedicate to it.

Pretty informative video....that part of the rocket is wicked. Never seen that before. Had a Hornet bust the number 200' over our heads on the carrier a couple times for flight demos. Nothing like it. Just pure awesome when it wisps by silently and then BOOM. Shitty thing is in the cockpit you don't feel anything.....just see the number tick by.
