I bet dads 182 is considered a complex aircraft. Is it any of the following: >200hp, variable pitch prop or retractable gear?

If you have access to a ride, you need to find a CFI & get to it man...if dad will let you fly it, you'll likely never have a better opportunity in the civilian world. Is it current? I'm jelly & excited for you!

It's 230 HP from what I remember, no variable pitch or retractable gear though.

I think it needs an annual done on it but other than that it should be good to go, it's in rough shape (I think it's a early or mid 80's plane) but it flies good and the only problem we've had with it is the radio will occasionally cut off and you have to hit the dash for it to work again.

I would love to, I know dad would let me fly it, I just don't have the time right now and I don't think we have any CFI's closer than slidell, but I will check and see if there is one at stennis.

Mid 80s is not really an old airplane. A 150 I had but sold a few years ago was a 1959. It had about 10,000 on the airframe and of course the 100hp O200 had been replaced, overhauled & rebuilt but, it was clean. No corrosion no nothing. It's still flying. I'll find a picture of it.

Oh and I did an autogas STC & it only burned 5.5 an hour.

I bet there's a CFI close to you somewhere...the coast (even our coast) seems to have a lot. The annual my cost few dimes but....

Is it IFR? Do you remember the compressions?

BTW, does anyone have a copy of the Gold Bond Powder video? I don't have it anymore, and I think it's been effectively scrubbed from the Interwebs.

An old WWII Commonwealth Air Training Program strip. These triangular airfields dot the prairie provinces and the farm land of southern Ontario. A few, like this one, are still active airports. Some are utilized as industrial sites. Most are abandoned, but if you look close enough, you can see foot print left on the land.
