I think the whole 20 series were light years ahead of their time, sexy, fast (although not very forgiving) and just plain fun to drive. 35 kind of falls into this class but with the fans it doesn't have the crisp throttle response of the noisy ones. With the 25 you had to throttle back when reaching altitude while the fans on the 35 take a little while to build speed. Of course the fuel burn doesn't even compare so the 35's with the fans won the hearts of the CFO's while the 25's still tugged the heart strings on the PIC's.

I'll take a 23,24,25,35 over anything else out there!

    Lots.
Still out here in Boise. Flew as a 4-ship into Boise International Friday afternoon for some weekend ops. Requested the "carrier break" 800ft AGL to a 600ft AGL downwind at "250" knots, unaware of any noise abatement procedures. The airport ended up getting 14 noise complaints after we landed. Oppss.

    Haters.

    I wouldn't mind :notsure:

Whenever I hear a plane that isn't a regular commercial flight I'm usually running outside to see who it is out of curiosity not out of aggrevation. Got time to swing up to Bozeman, MT? Should only take you guys a few minutes....

Always amazes me that people complain about military planes....that's the sound of the country's fighting force. I'd be asking to see and hear more!

I love listening to the messages people leave with noise complaints when we are doing heavy volume training exercises. Some of them are hilarious.

When I was at Fairchild AFB, we'd get the occasional middle-of-nowhere whack job calling my help desk to complain that our aircraft were going supersonic over his farm. It was a regular occurrence. One of my techs shut him up one day in glorious fashion. What I heard was: "Well, sir, you didn't die. Yes, that's right, die. Our aircraft can only go supersonic ONCE, and that's immediately before impact. No, you're wrong. Sir...sir...sir...the KC-135 is a tanker, a flying gas can, and the act of exceeding the speed of sound will blow it up and kill everything around it. Since you are obviously not dead, this did not occur. Thank you for calling, have a nice day."

    And airports.

When we would depart Jabara in Wichita, KS (KAAO) in the Lear 25, there's a large development just south of the field that came long after the airport and have the FBO on speed dial, so I would keep my departure angle very shallow till I crossed K-96 highway then push the sticks to the stops and point for the stars. Whomever was working the fuel desk would call on unicom and thank us for lighting up all 10 incoming phone lines. :)

Catalina flyer. At our MRO I have only seen 1 25 in many years and fewer 35s. They tend to go down market to south america and africa as they get older. Learjet dropping the airframe all together doesnt help. Private aviation continues to trend to larger cabin. Challengers Falcons gulfstreams. I still believe private aviation is innovating to bring better faster safer travel to many at lower prices.
