Do we have any Coast Guard Aviators in here? My PTMO package just accepted and I'll be transferring my commission in June, looking to see how hard it will be to pick up a flight contract.

I hit a new record yesterday.....

The flight schedule has been very after Christmas and there were quite a few people that wanted to get up to the ski towns.

Oakland -> Jackson Hole, WY -> Oakland -> Aspen, CO -> Oakland -> Sun Valley, ID -> Oakland

12.0 hours! (all part 91) Definitely my record for flight time in one day.

Decent weather for most of the day, but the temps never got above freezing outside of CA.

How much do you usually charge for a chartered flight if you don't mind me asking?

Say you had a full trip to Seattle, and nobody on the return leg. What would you charge for the return trip?

What shows are you referring to? I go to some each year that have at least one biplane at them.

...^^^... Meeting an Army helicopter IP buddy tonight at ATL A/P for dinner and we are looking at some mainly biplane shows. Will get back to you with specifics.

I have never been to a "primarily biplane show" before .... aka a "mini-Oshkosh" for biplanes is what we are looking for.

Hope everybody had a good christmas, FedEx had their yearly holiday helpers fly in, we had tower let them know to shut down their engines on the taxiway so they don't blow away the caravans and igloos on south cargo! And i got to escort a tow crew out to hook up and bring them in. If anyone is at KPHX at night come say hi :)IMG_2627.jpg

There is a Stearman Fly-in scheduled for September 2017 in Illinois. That looks like it would be a great event to go to. In fact I think that has just been added to the must see list for me.

Random funny... The original Stearman factory was across the ramp from McConnell afb in Kansas. It was still on guard property, but we used it for chem warfare training. The floor still had all the holes where there machines were bolted down and a lot of the old pulleys in the rafters.

Since this is an Aviation BS and Photo thread, thought I'd put up some pix from Death Valley that I took last month. I really enjoy reading the off road threads that are dedicated to these area(s). If anyone has traveled the 190 between 395 and Panamint Valley, you've probably seen some of this stuff as they transition thru Rainbow Canyon. I've made numerous trips out there over the last few years and it's one of my favorite places to go for the scenery and of course the fast movers! :plane:86-0167-F-15C-194FS-4.jpgF-001-F-35A-OT-323TES-7.jpg ET-210-F-16B-RDAF-461FLTS-8.jpg
