Thanks! Now I have to chase an electrical gremlin and I hate working with electronics. I am getting a lot of alternator whine whenever I key up the mic to transmit. It doesn't matter what radio I'm using, or what the volumes are set at. If I turn off the alternator, transmissions become instantly clearer. Fix one problem and another arises. :pout:

Make sure you check all electrical grounds It's usually a ground connection that is less than ideal on or at some point of location bonding

100% Agree. A bad ground can cause feedback into the comm system. One thing to check from experience is instrument or interior lighting. Sometimes a bad ground or even a swapped power and ground on light can cause this. Best bet is to turn off each system or light one at a time to narrow down where the problem is.

I narrowed it down to the alternator. Everything sounds fine with it turned off, but once I bring the alternator back online it gets whiny.
Yep, super relieved. Hire me! :D

If you want to work as a pilot sooner, you should probably go for your CFI. If you can afford to pay for about 50 hours of multi time, you could get your multi-commercial and get a job that way.

Or just meet someone and get lucky.

Something is going on around here. Heard and barely saw an OD B-17 yesterday late afternoon, and an OD B-25 just flew by my office window.
