Landing on a boat would be fun, living on a boat for extended periods of time is something that would not be okay with me.

Air Force quality of life is outstanding, especially downrange. Our facilities were always the best. Nothing against the other services; I've respected and appreciate them all, but there's a reason why the USAF has such a high reenlistment rate.

Of course, we also have the lowest promotion rate, depending on career field. So...there's that.

Just stay out of Intel and other fields related to it. Since Wikileaks and Snowden, that community is destroying itself with paranoia, stress and bullshit. Fuck the NSA - they suck. Polygraphs suck. SCIF life sucks. Just say no.

Go fly, young man. Be free, not in dark little caves.

    Both Typhoons.

IDK if there are Typhoons here this RF. Unless the Italians are flying them.

Yes, the first picture is of a Bombardier CL-415. The second shows a couple of Canadair CL-215's. Think you can also see a set of CAP 13000 floats in the back ground which came off of Max Wards Twin Otter. The 215 is the "Gen 1" version. No hydraulic controls, no air conditioning, 2 awesome sounding P&W R-2800 engines. Sadly, Bombardier recently ceased production of the 415. Lack of orders on he books. Hard to compete with Air Tractor and their Fireboss despite its somewhat spotty safety record. Think fatigue...single pilot, working long hours for days, sometimes weeks on end under extremely demanding conditions. A case of economics ahead of common sense.

And to keep things on track...the real Super Scooper...

Very difficult decision to make because I know there is no guarantee that I'd be flying for the air force. By going the civilian route I'm on now, I know that I'll be flying.
