Lots of great memories flying! I solo'd in a C-152 and a 2-33 glider. Life got busy and never finished getting my licenses. Here's a photo of me and my instructor immediately post-solo. Pretty scary shorts!

My mother's father was a Flying Master Sergeant in WWII. Flew a C-47 back and forth from Newfoundland to Ireland for 18 months until he was replaced on that route by the WACS. He moved forward to England, and dropped paratroops and supplies for D-day. Later got recalled to the USAF for the Berlin Airlift and flew C-47s and C-54s. Flew his whole career, retiring in C-124 Globemasters, as the only Captain in the Air Force with only a GED.

The Globemaster in the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson AFB was one of his.

He'd get drunk on occasion and tell me about how those women pilots ruined his "good thing" and sent him forward, away from his Canadian and Irish bars. Very R and NC-17 stories were told to this impressionable youth. I loved him immensely. He was proud that I joined the Air Force, but died the month before I left for basic.

Robert L. Palmer, Capt, USAF Retired, here's to you.

I spent a day and a half when I was around 17 at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum and have made many trips to the Museum of Flight in Seattle but one of these days I really hope to make it to Wright Patterson, that would be amazing.

Do the names of these approach fixes, including the missed approach ring a bell from our childhood days of cartoons? :D

I discovered this years ago from my instructor.

I like when they have fun with the names. Strange that they put SATAN on the initial approach fix.

I flew this arrival a couple weeks ago into Orlando, FL.

It says "I thought I saw a pussy cat." Except in the voice from Tweety.

Is this real? Where did you find this?

Quite possibly one of the coolest photos I have ever seen.....only if it is real.

Agree! At first I thought it was the shuttle punching through the clouds , but of course no aircraft is allowed that close. Sweet pic Matt

Yee haw...nice 70+ degree day for changing a nav light.

I'm working an A300 to BWI, B777 to HNL and DC/MD10-30 to SMF on their turns today.
