Well it's not the shuttle on the platform because the platform is taller than the shuttle so we would be seeing it. It is also not on the transport platform because they would never move it during low fog like that.
So I think it is suppose to be punching through the clouds, but like you said... no aircraft is allowed that close.

Agreed. At the speeds it travels and air pressure around the shuttle at launch, a hole would open around the craft in the cloud that the shuttle would be in the middle of.

Also, the landscape on the horizon is suspect for South Florida.

Great manufactured pic all the same.

Yeah unfortunately I can't defend it. I thought it was fog too. And they wouldn't launch through an overcast I thought.....let alone allow anything that close during launch hiding above the clouds to get a perfectly timed shot.

So until I can find background on it I'll say it's 'shopped as well. Still a cool pic though

Maybe they were moving it to the launch platform and the fog moved in really fast? :p

I considered this. But the amount of people dedicated to forecasts would probably see it coming. If it is real, it was probably set on the transport platform and then left for a couple nights before they made the 3 mile journey to the launch platform.

They're no where close to F or even the seats in the supernumerary area on the same aircraft but, they have plenty of adjustments. They seem fine for my 5'9", 150lbs frame. :D

Maybe the yoke is enormous, making the seats seem small. I have seen some lard assed pilots who couldn't function on a bicycle seat like that. Could it be a comfort thing...keep them wiggling around on a skinny seat to keep them awake?:plane:

I am a huge fan of the PT-6 turboprop but the radial engines I've worked on are my favorites... Radials are absolute genius of engineering IMHO

My favorite use of the PW Wasp rotary engine - the P-47 Thunderbolt. While those 1800 and 2800 Wasps were put in everything, this combo was outstanding.

I firmly believe that Boeing hates pilots. There's just no other explanation for those seats. I should qualify this by saying that my experience is limited to the 737Ng.

One of my favorite airplanes as well. It's one of the more under-appreciated planes from WWII.

There is no airplane that will get cozier than the left and right seat of a Mooney :D.... Except the Bonanza that does seat you more like a chair should.;)

The seats on our company Boeing aircraft are all the about the same (and not too different in size than the Airbus we have). We operate 757, 767 & 777s as far as Boeing. I've not been in a 737 cockpit in a while and it was during post C/D check test flights so I was just reading certain proceedure and checking certain things as we went through the testing but, not from the left or right seats (as I wish).
