I don’t believe that’s really a HOTAS system. Can’t do much more with the buttons on the stick than you can in any other passenger jet. I don’t think there are buttons on the throttle other than the TOGA buttons, either.

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
I flew the a319/20/21 jetblue sim a couple years ago - the sidestick and throttle position feels natural. I think the angle of the picture makes it look wider than reality.

It's very comfortable. With Airbus you can record your seating, armrest and rudder pedal position, there's markings on each that allow you set your preferred position every time you fly.

Been jonesing to get back into flying lately. Talking to a buddy of mine yesterday about it, and he's a SWA pilot with a still valid cfi and he offered to give me instruction if I go halves on a plane with him (some sort of a taildragger like a scout or kitfox, we both work for an airline so long haul trips are covered lol). We were trying to figure out if all my time from my college flight training still counts? I have all my solo time done, cross countries and all I had left was night flying and prepping for the check ride. Last time I logged hours was 2004. He was saying all those hours still count as far as he knows and it would just be getting proficient to pass the checkride. Anyone know?

Bad part is my wife says it's either rock crawling Tacoma or an airplane, not both. Still need to work on her with that lol!

My wife says the same thing haha (I’m putting off IFR rating for FW due to a few truck mods (currently have SEL PPL and RW commercial and IFR)).

I THINK the time is still valid since I know some ppl take years to get their license. I would just check the most current FAR/AIM to be sure.

Reality is I would probibly use the plane more than wheeling my truck being where I'm at, haven't even wheeled it yet this year. Only thing is I'm at the end of modifying it, and I would basically get scrap value for it, so I have that going for me lol! My wife is a fellow airplane geek, so I think she would like the plane more. However she's super cheap!!

I do believe your time is still valid, however, by the time you are proficient on cross-country, navigation, night and solo you will probably re-do some of the requirements. The Private pilot requirements may have changed a little since 2004 as well so I would look here to see if there is anything you are missing. https://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-i...ew=text&node=14:2.0.1.1.2&idno=14#sp14.2.61.e

Part 61.102- is for Private Pilots and Part 61.81- is for Student Pilots. Your instructor should be able to help make sense of it as well.

Yup that goes without saying regarding redoing some stuff. I was reviewing part 61 over the weekend and it doesn't look like too much had changed, besides the medical and student application.

This is what a "Ground Stop" looks like. Over an hour holding short of the runway in Fort Lauderdale waiting for the storm to pass.
