I took down some notes from when i saw it years ago. It will get airborne at 80Kmh using a "hydro-pheumatically operated flap at the nose." Russian built (Tupolev) apparently designed for use to rescue downed pilots. Not sure if they ever used it.

Did you hanger at KVBT when you were in school? I’m thinking of joining the fly-OZ club there, so I may become a regular there.

I hangared at ASG, but I was still at VBT often. I did my Commercial Single there. I have a friend in the club there. I didn't see the benefit for me to join, but they do have a cool hangout upstairs in the FBO!

Yes they do. Even have my brand of tequila.

I’m still trying to decide club or purchase. I still have lots of questions about the club, but it might work for me for a yr or two so I can build enough tail wheel time to afford insurance.

Nice! Yeah, since I had a plane up there I didn't see the need to join a club where I would have to pay to fly other planes...Although they do have some nice equipment! I would strongly consider it if I didn't have access to a plane already.

They have an option to fly the Husky or 182, which works great for me. One for local grass and one for trips. Long term it seems too expensive, but for 1-2 years would be Ok. 5 yrs in the club though would almost buy something like a maule MXT-7 that I could insure. First world problems I guess.

I took it my sophomore year of college w/o prep. Basic questions from high school education with some spatial orientation and logical thinking too. If you're comfortable with basic algebra, science, and grammar, you're covered. No aviation experience when I took at and now flying's my job! Biggest threat is time for each question.
