Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
All the former Navy and AF maintainers I work with say they wouldn't expect any less out of a pilot... ;)

Haha, I like how you CYA on the latest poll to avoid this issue.

Perhaps you’re a big fan of the ornithopter. I’m not one to judge.

I tried ornithoptering my way off the garage roof when I was a kid with flat cardboard taped to each arm. That didn't go so well.

Perhaps as a fig leaf to the sensitive leanings of the mechanics on the thread, a pole for preference of torque wrench: Beam vs Click.

That should get their juices flowing :smokertransformer:

Finally visited the famous Star Wars canyon/ Jedi transition in the Death Valley, and it was awesome to see these guys in their natural habitat instead of being in air shows. Here is a F-15 out of Fresno lighting up the burners as he carves through the canyon.

Okay folks help with this I was talking with someone at my office for a very brief moment today can someone explain it. We were chatting on the Boeing Max issue and this was said right before he left. what does this mean. "Runaway stab procedures are required to be memorized at most airlines. The stab cutout procedures have not changed on the 737" I am just a little lost on the info I have found on it on the interwebz....

So I figured no better place to ask this question.....:anonymous:

Most jets have what are called "memory items" which are a set of steps to take if a time critical problem happens. You react with the correct few steps to stabilize the problem before going to the checklist which will have more steps to take.

Many planes use electric motors to adjust the pitch of the horizontal tail on the back of the plane for pitch trim. With the electric motors involved it creates the remote possibility that they could get a bad signal from somewhere and start running on their own which is called a "runaway stabilizer." So if there is a chance of it happening there are procedures to cancel it out which involve removing power to the whole motor system. These procedures are usually a "memory item" for at least a few steps. The procedure can vary based on the type of plane but each will be certified with a way to stop the trim from moving. In the case of the Boeing, it doesn't matter what triggers the stabilizer to move, there are two switches that can be turned off that will stop the movement and that whole procedure has been the same for a long time on the different versions of the 737.

Star Wars Canyon looks like such a cool place to hang out!

I flew down to Lakeland FL the other day to get some fresh strawberries from the "winter time strawberry capital of the world" and OH MY GOD I've never had strawberries this good before. They pick them fresh each morning from the field down the street from the market. We bought 20 flats of berries and loaded them in my friend's 210. We barely had enough space in the plane for us and our overnight bags! It was cool to watch the T6 demo team practicing for Sun n Fun while we were getting loaded up. The 210 is the perfect plane for these 4 hour legs!
