A very well done video of the last 15 minutes of the Apollo 11 landing. Cap Com and mission control audio feeds at the same time. Really catches the moment better than I've ever seen.

Little formation work to UNU to stage for the Cessna mass arrival to Osh. 10° flaps and bottom of the green power setting to slow down enough for the 150

I don’t know where the OZ flight club will be, but if you track them down check out the new PPonk 182. Looks like a beast. Saw it leave this morning fully loaded for Oshkosh and it just leapt off the runway.

That was awesome, thanks for sharing!
Everyone on the radios sounded so calm and focused but I can only imagine the tension in the room the whole time that was playing out.

Tesla make an electric plane now?
Probably a glider. Maybe a UAV?

Strangest sighting I've ever had was a few years back while I was camping in Yellowstone. It was a warm and clear night so I stayed up to star gaze a bit. Everyone else in camp had gone to bed so there wasn't a lot of light pollution and my campfire had burned down to just coals. Pretty quiet too, no water or traffic noises. I was kicked back in my chair watching for satellites and whatever, had my binoculars in hand. Saw something orange streaking across the sky so I held up the binos so get a clearer view of it. There was an orange O that looked like the afterburner on a fighter jet passing over pretty quick. Only saw it for a few seconds before it was over the horizon. Weird thing was there was no sound at all. And no other marker lights or anything near it. If it was an afterburner I would have expected to have heard something. Unless its possible it was flying so high that the noise disipated and never reached the ground.

Hope this storm system rolling through the WI area isn't causing any damage to the planes in Oshkosh! Be safe our there if you're in the air today!

What do you suppose would happen if everyone from Oshkosh took off and flew into Area 51.

They’d meet a pair of F-16s running a CAP, or possibly interception.

20mm would go through Cessnas like BBs through paper.

Where’s the sport in that? Flying close enough to roll the cessna over with the wake is where it’s at.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I am not a pilot --lets get that out of the way quickly.
I do however enjoy this section of this website a lot. I just finished reading the SR-71 loss accounting a few pages back. It was so much fun watching those guys come and go from Kadena when I was there with the 6990th SS flying on (AMT) , and ground maint. of our planes -the 6 RC-135M's. Those SR's could get to where it was going, do its mission, then slowdown enough to get fuel from a SLOW KC-135Q and get back to Kadena, in less time than it took our RC's just to get there!(one way). Usually about 90 minutes after one took off it would be back at Kadena --if it did not -then one could assume it went back to Beale AFB. It took us 2-3 hours to get to our station(s) (northern gulf of Tonkin or northern Laos.
The one really satisfying fact to me, is that those same 6 RC135M's I flew then, are still flying to this day as retrofitted RC135W's. (131, 32, 34,35, 38, and 39) That's been about 49-50 years ago.
HATS OFF TO all the ground crews that have maintained the RC135 fleet all of these years!
