Haha - I just watched something on them flying a generator to Australia from Germany. Saw one in PHX once I think...or Dallas.

I was wondering what they were used for. The entire nose hinges open.

Watched one of these guys pull in and unload here yesterday too, I wonder if it's the same one. They are delivering stuff to us here once every week or two.

That antonov has actually been parked at BWI on a closed runway for a couple weeks now, hasn't moved. I was looking up pictures of the antonov 225 though, and holy heck is that an even bigger plane.

Vodka Dumper (Volga-Dnepr) has 12 of em. They have a few spares. The 225 is a beast though. It was parked in Houston for A LONG time a few years back on MX issues.

Yep, it collects signals from ground towers and displays traffic and weather on my iPad over a WiFi connection

So is it easy to move from plane to plane? Most of what I'm flying now has in, but some don't. Would be nice to have on my tablet.

Oh yeah, it's just on a suction cup on the window. I bring it home with me after each flight

@kodiakisland If you feel so inclined, there are a lot of homemade ADS-B receivers that you can put together for significantly less money. A quick Google search would find many options. At $500, the Sentry isn't "cheap," But the plus is that there's a support team if I ever need it.

I was told that they have to sit on the runway for 3-5 minutes to do a final INS alignment, and to spool the engines up to takeoff power. If they do it too quickly, it’ll compressor stall.
