I flew out of ORD around 9am this morning and the terminal looked pretty dead once they got all the morning departures out of there. Surprised they were even attempting arrivals.

....^^^... A good friend of mine found that original Delta DC-3 down in Puerto Rico. We raised some money for that refurb and that plane was just finished in time and was the backdrop at his memorial service at the Delta Hanger. His name was Sergio Rodrigo, he was from Puerto Rico and he was a Delta pilot (757's ?) and retired, and learned to fly R-22's and R-44's for fun.

He was killed in a helicopter crash on the Brazilian border (in the Jungle) with 2 other guys (1 survived).

Sergio used to have some of the biggest and wildest Halloween Parties in Atlanta too. One year we blew up 1,000's of balloons with helium (took a week) and filled his house (upstairs with orange and black balloons.

Could have been a lot worse than it was. I know how scary it is driving a car on ice and starting to lose control....gotta be 100000 x's worse if you're piloting a plane on ice....

I came to Delta in 1997... I was not involved in the restoration of Ship 41, but I do remember seeing new parts for it being machined on the CNC mills in the shop.

They did an outstanding restoration on it...

But then it wouldn't feed his narcissistic personality. :notsure: Its a double edge sword.

Same reason people in the military are getting careers ended for stupid stuff now that has been "normal" since the dawn of the military.
