Yeah I had trouble at first but got it pretty much down with the twists. Some are a pain in the rear to do especially doing it behind something you can't see.

It was in really good shape, came from the Naval Air museum up in Pensacola, now we have the Midway trifecta at the museum, Dauntless, TBM, and Wildcat.. the TBM is to return to flight next couple of weeks. The other two will be static the rest of their lives..

How cool is it to say, hey, while flying in a P-51 I got a little video of some P-38s. Jealous.

P-38s are my favorite. I've been obsessing over them for almost 40 years.

How about some Christmas gifts for pilots suggestions.
My future daughter in law was asking me about watches for my son. I wear a Victorinox GMT because I like having Zulu time handy, but know a lot of people like watches with a chronograph. I want a Breitling, but fly on a Victorinox budget.

For those of you who do wear a watch while flying, what type and why? Brand I'm not as interested in as much as features you look for and use.

Any other suggestions for a young pilot that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

You said it right there with your Victorinox, a GMT feature is really the only thing I look for in a functional watch to fly.

I have a Breitling Navitimer 46 Caliber one but I rarely wear it at work which is 97% of my flying. The last thing I want is my $9,000 watch, or the bag it’s in, out of my sight especially in TSAs control.

I wear my Timex “pilot wings” watch at work. You can get it on Sporty’s for $70. It’s functional with GMT, a timer, and the indiglow light and it has a classic look. It’s served me just fine in the flight levels. A lot of guys wear the luminox watches too if you’re looking for something a little more high end. Many of those have the same features and they permanently illuminate in the dark without pushing a button or exposing them to light.

I hate wearing a watch, but I do wear one at work just so I can see the time without using my phone. I just have a simple black Stormtech that I got as a gift

Huge industrial fire 2 miles from the airport. Saw it starting up 15 miles out and was raging by the time we got by it. Thankfully no helos in the air yet as it was in the narrow VFR path I was in. Leaving the airport 15 minutes later there were at least 4 helos circling it.
